I Will Be Still (Psalm 46:10 and Psalm 131)

I don’t try to reach up ten feet high
When I’m only five feet tall;
Mysteries remain a mystery;
And I don’t mind at all.

Otherwise there’s no such thing as trust;
Some things I’m not made to understand, I have just…
Chorus: To be still, like a child with its mother;
In a great storm, off to sleep I will nod;
I will be still with a calm like no other;
I will be still, knowing you are God.
I will be still.
I will be still.
Nine years old and crawling down the stairs,
Shrieking with the smoke alarm;

Chorus: ’Cause I’m still, as a child with her mother;
In a great storm, off to sleep I will nod;
I will be still with a calm like no other;
I will be still, knowing you are God;
I will be still.
I will be still.
How the mother hen longs to gather her chicks under her wings and away from the sword;
Throw down your armour, o Israel, put your hope, your only hope, in the Lord!
And be still…
[Interlude]
We will be still with a calm like no other;
We will be still, knowing you are God.
We will be still;
We will be still;
We will be still.
